15 Encouraging Bible Verses That Remind You Whose You Are

When I think of who I am and my relationship with God, a couple of images immediately come to mind.

One is that of a small lion cub, fearless before an enemy because she knows her daddy is standing firm and tall right behind her.  The guardian lion is majestic in his beauty, awe-inspiring in his solid fierceness.  He is ready and fully able to vanquish any foe to protect her, and she believes this truth.

The second image is of two children on the playground.  One is tormenting the other, but that child is not bothered or afraid.  He proudly proclaims how great his daddy is, that he will protect him and give him every good thing.  He knows this is true because of the great love his father has for him.

Likewise, God has great love for us as His children! He is there to protect us and provide for our needs, whatever they may be.

When difficulties come in life, anxiety or fear can try to come upon us as well. Understanding whose we are, or to whom we belong, is foundational in kicking out fear that attempts to reside in us.  We can trust that we have no need to fear.  In fact, scripture instructs and reminds us hundreds of times not to fear, worry, or be anxious.

God knew we would struggle in this area, so He provided for us with His Word. He not only shows us in His Word who He is, but also who we are in relationship to Him.

A brand new creation; God’s child

When you believe in Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and choose to follow Him, you are changed both spiritually and positionally. You instantly become a brand-new creation with a perfect, living spirit, and you are adopted into God’s family.

So then, who’s your daddy?  God is!

His blessings and promises are now yours, based on nothing else but your new status as His child.

You can trust Him as a good, good Father who will never let you down.  People often disappoint, but He never will.  God is steadfast, never changing.  Ever.  He always keeps His Word and His promises.

God cherishes you, delights in you, provides for you, and protects you.  Why?  Because you are HIS.

The truth of this is evident in God’s Word. Read on to see how in this collection of fifteen encouraging scriptures.
